Who is the RICS ?

The RICS (or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) is an independent professional body that regulates construction and property professionals in the field of surveying to promote and enforce the highest professional qualifications and standards in the development and management of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. www.rics.org

The headquarters of the RICS was founded in 1868 and is still based in London, receiving its Chartered status in 1930 and achieving its “Royal” designation in 1946. Today there are 14 regional offices and affiliates in 146 countries. The institute is dedicated to representing its clients, businesses and members worldwide in the support of professional and ethical developments, with expertise covering property valuation and management; the costing and leadership of construction projects; the development of infrastructure; and the management of natural resources, such as mining, farms and woodland; from environmental assessments and building controls to negotiating land rights in an emerging economy.

Dawson & Associates are proud to be one of the 118,000 registered professionals and qualifying members / businesses entitled to call themselves Chartered Surveyors who use the letters MRICS after their name to indicate that they have been approved to work in the industry and uphold the strict professional standards and codes.
